Very glad to present you this section of Raag Bodham, where we learn about Raag. Raag is term given to a Tonal Cycle played in Indian Classical Music. Raag comprises of basic Syllables called Swaras and there is a great importance attached to Shruti (subtle tonal frequency) on Vocal or instrumental music. Raag is differentiated based on the inclusion and arrangement of Swaras. Our friend Mrs. Suvalakshmi has written in details about Raag in Learning_Indian_Music section.
